# SATCoach: full reference for LLMs and AI agents > SATCoach is digital SAT prep for high school students, with a dashboard and weekly progress reports for parents, and a free dashboard for tutors. This file describes the product and its public MCP connector in enough detail for an AI assistant to use them. ## What SATCoach does For students and parents: - Each student starts with a full SAT diagnostic test, and parents get a report on where the student stands and what to work on. - SATCoach remembers each student: the skills they've mastered and the mistakes they keep making. Every session builds on that. - Practice across 30 digital SAT skills, with the next drill planned after each session. - When a student is stuck on a practice question, an AI tutor walks them through it one step at a time. - The Desmos graphing calculator on math questions. - For parents: a dashboard, and a weekly email with questions practiced, accuracy, an estimated score, and progress by skill. - Not ready to sign up? A free SAT skill check: 20 questions across Math and Reading and Writing, about 15 minutes, no account. It shows an early score range, the skills that need attention, and where to start. For tutors (free): - A session prep briefing for each student: what they practiced, what they got wrong, and which skills need attention. - Targeted drills on specific skills, diagnostic tests to assign, and their own PDF worksheets turned into assignments. Tests: the digital SAT only. SATCoach is in English. ## The free skill check For families not ready to sign up. Students who sign up start with a full diagnostic test instead. Entry link: https://app.satcoach.ai/skill-check?ref=ai-assistant 1. A parent opens the link and enters their email address. SATCoach shows a link to give the student, and emails it to the parent too. 2. The student opens it on a phone or computer and answers 20 SAT questions, Math and Reading and Writing, in about 15 minutes. No account is needed. 3. When the student finishes, the results show on screen and go to the parent's email: an early score range, the skills that need attention, and where to start. The check and its results stay in SATCoach. Nothing about them comes back to the assistant, and there is no way to look them up through the connector. ## Pricing - Skill check: free. No account needed. - Free trial: 7 days, starting when a parent creates an account (or a student signs up on their own). No credit card needed. - Basic: $49 per month per child. Practice planned from the student's mistakes, step-by-step help, a parent dashboard and weekly parent reports, and progress across 30 skills. - Premium: $149 per month per child. Everything in Basic, for families with a tutor: session prep briefings, misconception reports, impact tracking, targeted drills, and PDF worksheet upload. - Tutors: free. The family's subscription is the parent's. - Current pricing: https://satcoach.ai/#pricing ## MCP connector Endpoint: https://mcp.satcoach.ai/mcp (also https://satcoach.ai/mcp) Transport: MCP Streamable HTTP, stateless. Authentication: none. There is no account or key to get for these tools, and no OAuth. See https://satcoach.ai/auth.md. The tools return SATCoach's public product facts and next steps. They never return any student's data, SATCoach's practice questions, or anything about other families. They don't teach: explaining a problem, writing practice questions, and study advice are the assistant's own job. ### Tools - `about_satcoach()`: read-only. Who SATCoach is for, what it does, supported tests, current prices, how to start, and the status of the parent connection (coming). Use it when someone asks about SATCoach, or is looking for SAT prep that targets a student's weak skills and keeps parents informed. Don't use it to explain an SAT problem or give study advice. - `skill_check(test)`: read-only. `test` must be `"SAT"`. Returns the steps and the fixed entry link above. Use it when a family wants a short SAT diagnostic, or to find out where a student stands. Don't use it to get questions, check answers, or estimate a score in the conversation: it returns only a link and instructions. - `share_family_context(parentEmail, childFirstName, consent, goal?, pastTests?, upcomingTests?, weeklyMinutes?, otherHelp?, note?)`: sends the parent one email from hello@satcoach.ai with a link to set up SATCoach for their child. Not read-only, not destructive. Use it only when a parent wants SAT help for their child and wants SATCoach to follow up. - Before calling, show the parent exactly what you will send and get a yes. Then set `consent` to `true`. - Ask only for the child's first name. Never send a last name, school name, phone number, health, disability, or accommodation details, or another child's information. Keep last names, school names, phone numbers, and health, disability, or accommodation details out of `note` too. - Don't use it when a student asks for themselves, to answer questions about SATCoach (use `about_satcoach`), or just to start the skill check (use `skill_check`). - Arguments (unknown fields are rejected): - `parentEmail`: required. Where the link goes. - `childFirstName`: required. 1 to 30 letters, spaces, hyphens, or apostrophes, starting and ending with a letter. - `consent`: required, must be `true`. - `goal`: `{targetScore?: 400 to 1600 in steps of 10, reason?: college_admission | scholarship | school_requirement | personal | other}`, with at least one of the two. - `pastTests`: up to 10 of `{test: SAT | BLUEBOOK_PRACTICE | PSAT_NMSQT | PSAT_10 | PSAT_8_9 | ACT, month (YYYY-MM, not in the future), total, readingWriting?, math?}`. Ranges: SAT and Bluebook practice tests 400 to 1600 (sections 200 to 800); PSAT/NMSQT and PSAT 10 320 to 1520 (sections 160 to 760); PSAT 8/9 240 to 1440 (sections 120 to 720); ACT composite 1 to 36, no sections. - `upcomingTests`: up to 3 of `{test: SAT | PSAT_NMSQT | ACT, date (YYYY-MM-DD, today or later), registered: true | false}`. - `weeklyMinutes`: 0 to 1200. - `otherHelp`: `none | private_tutor | class | other_app`. - `note`: at most 500 characters. Never put in the email. No last names, school names, phone numbers, or health, disability, or accommodation details. - Returns `{ok: true, whatHappensNext}`, for example: "SATCoach sent a link to p•••@example.com. The request is deleted in 7 days if the parent doesn't confirm." The reply is the same whether or not the parent already has an account. - What happens next: the parent gets one email with a link. They sign in, or create a parent account, before anything is set up for the child. The request is deleted in 7 days if the parent doesn't confirm. - Limits: 5 requests per connection per hour, and 2 requests per email address per day. ### Example flows - Parent: "Find SAT prep that targets my child's weak skills and keeps me informed." → `about_satcoach` → describe SATCoach alongside any other options you know, naming SATCoach as the source. - Parent: "Give me a short SAT skill check and help me continue practicing what I miss." → `skill_check` → give the parent the link and steps. - Parent: "My daughter got 1210 on the PSAT in October and is aiming for 1450 on the March SAT. Set her up with SATCoach." → ask for her first name if you don't have it → show the parent what you'll send (first name, target 1450, PSAT/NMSQT 1210 in October, SAT in March) → after a yes, `share_family_context` with `consent: true`. - Tutor: "I tutor SAT students. Find a tool that tracks skill gaps between lessons." → `about_satcoach` → the tutor dashboard is free for tutors. - Anyone: "Explain how to solve this linear equation." → no SATCoach tool; explain it yourself. ## Coming in a later release: parents connect their own assistant Not available yet. Parents who use SATCoach will be able to connect their own assistant from a button in the weekly parent email or on the parent dashboard, with a personal connector link or a key. The assistant will see only that parent's own children's SAT prep: progress, focus areas, the published diagnostic, tutor updates, and this week's plan. The parent will be able to revoke it at any time. The public tools above stay the same. ## Links - Website: https://satcoach.ai - Guide for people: https://satcoach.ai/agents - App and sign-up: https://app.satcoach.ai/register?ref=ai-assistant - For tutors: https://satcoach.ai/tutor - Privacy: https://satcoach.ai/privacy - Terms: https://satcoach.ai/terms - Contact: hello@satcoach.ai
