What we collect

We collect information necessary to provide the SATCoach service. This includes: account information (name, email address, role — student, parent, or tutor), student practice data (answers to practice questions, time spent, mastery levels, diagnostic test results), and contact form submissions (email address when you reach out through our website).

How we use it

We use your information to: provide adaptive SAT practice, generate progress reports and session insights, send weekly parent updates, enable the tutor dashboard, and communicate with you about the service. Student practice data is used solely to personalize their learning experience and generate reports for their parent and tutor.

What we don't do

We do not sell, rent, share, or trade your personal information with anyone. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not share student data with third parties for marketing purposes. We do not use student practice data to train AI models.

Third-party services

We use third-party service providers to operate SATCoach, including providers for AI analysis (powering adaptive features, explanations, and insights), email delivery (weekly reports and parent updates), and form processing (contact form submissions). These providers process data on our behalf under their respective privacy policies. A current list of sub-processors is available upon request by emailing hello@satcoach.ai.

Data security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Student data is stored in a secured database with access limited to authorized accounts (the student, their linked parent, and their linked tutor). We do not store payment information directly — payment processing is handled by third-party providers.

Your rights

You can request to view, export, or delete your data at any time by emailing hello@satcoach.ai. We will respond within 30 days. Parents can request deletion of their child's data. Tutors can request removal of their dashboard access.

If you're a resident of California, you have additional rights under the CCPA including the right to know what personal information we hold and the right to request its deletion.

Children's privacy

SATCoach is designed for use by students, including those under 18. Student accounts are created by or with the consent of a parent or guardian. We collect only the data necessary to provide the educational service. We comply with COPPA requirements for users under 13.

Data retention

We retain student practice data for the duration of the active subscription. If you cancel your account, we will delete your data within 90 days unless you request earlier deletion. Contact form submissions are retained for up to 12 months.

Changes

We may update this policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be communicated by email to active users.
